A.Lange & Sohne Launches Moon Phase Watches In The Middle East
A. Lange & Sohne's art of precision watchmaking is arguably unrivalled. The renowned watch manufactory continuously strives to reach new limits through pioneering technologies, complications and modern day designs, combined with traditional craftsman?ship. The brand's watches are synonymous with innovation, engineering, and ultimate performance. An inter?esting feature differentiating some A. Lange & S?hne models is the intricate and beautifully detailed moon phase display.
The accuracy of standard A. Lange & Sohne moon phase models such as the Datograph Perpetual, Saxonia Annual Calendar and Lange 1 Moonphase is 122 years, after which the watch only needs to be corrected by one day. The latest model by A. Lange & S?hne, the 1815 Moonphase, surpasses all boundaries, mirroring the brand's drive to push the limits. The deviation of the moon phase is almost undetectable since the indication needs only to be corrected by one day after over 30 generations, or once every 1058 years, provided the watch runs without interruption and remains set to the correct time.
This is an incredible feat, even for the master watchmakers at A. Lange & Sohne, who realise the significance of the lunar calendar across the globe, and specifically in the Middle East with reference to the Muslim holy month of Ramadan. The 1815 Moonphase is part of a trilogy of watches referred to as the '165 Years - Homage to F. A. Lange; collection, which also includes the Tourbograph 'Pour Le Mérite' and the Lange 1 Tourbillon. The watches are all created in the patented novel honey-coloured gold twice as hard as any other 18 carat gold alloy, and combine contemporary creativity with state-of-the-art tradition dating back to the days of the old Lange pocket watches.
The collection was created to commemorate Ferdinand A. Lange, founder of the German fine watchmaking industry, who in 1845 realised his dream of creating a watch manufactory.
"We are thrilled about the impending arrival of the Homage Collection in the region, especially due to the strong regional links the pieces exhibit. The Middle East has always been an interest?ing market for A. Lange & S?hne. We are proud to share with our loyal followers the excite?ment of our anniversary year as the brand enjoys increasing success," stated Matthieu Dupont, Middle East Brand Manager, A. Lange & Sohne.
The '165 Years - Homage to F. A. Lange Collection' will be showcased for the first time in the Middle East in a unique A. Lange & Sohne watchmaking exhibition at the Dubai Mall Atrium, which will also highlight the brand's ingenuity, craftsmanship and long-time emphasis on education. The exhibition will take place from 9 to 18 September 2010, after which the trilogy of masterpieces will be available in a very limited selection of retailers across the region.
