Blancpain’s Fifty Fathoms Collection is composed of highly-demanded boldly-designed sports replica watches in all of the brand’s lines. In 2010, Blancpain has riched the Fifty Fathoms domain of sport with a new member that features the complicated functions of a moon phase and a complete calendar, as well as the traditional column-wheel flyback chronograph, a feature really useful for sportsmen and sports fans.

Blancpain is proud to be taking part for the sixth year at the Cannes International Boatshow. For this occasion, the Manufacture in Le Brassus is launching the first ten watches of a brand-new Fifty Fathoms model, a Flyback Chronograph with Complete Calendar and Moon Phases.

The case, in stainless steel, measures 45mm x 17.4mm. It has an AR-coated sapphire crystal, a sapphire display back and is water resistant to 300 meters.

The new watch is called Fifty Fathoms Complete Calendar Moon Phase Flyback Chronograph, a little redundant in name, but it suggests all the helpful complications the novelty boasts. The model accommodates a sophisticated self-winding movement constructed from 448 parts, including 37 jewels. The movement has been fitted with a host of Blancpain movement innovations. The moon phase complete calendar mechanism is drawn from the caliber F185 movement, offering the unique capability of risk-free setting of any indication, no matter what time of day or night it is.

Movement is the Swiss automatic Blancpain in-house caliber 66BF8 with 37 jewels, 21,600 vph and a power reserve of 40 hours. This caliber is composed of 448 parts. Functions are complete calendar, moon phase and chronograph complications.

The new Blancpain watch is also equipped with the brand’s patented under lug correctors that eliminate the need for adjusters on the sides of the case and which allow finger-tip setting in place of an adjusting tool. All of these human oriented features make the watch really stand out from the crowd of other complete calendar moon phase watches that do not allow their owner to set the calendar indications at certain times to avoid the risk of damaging the delicate details of the calendar.

The case is sculptured in stainless steel and measures 45 mm in diameter. It comes with a blue colored sapphire unidirectional bezel and blue dial. Other features includes good water-resistance to 300 meters, and a 40-hour power-reserve provided by the brand’s traditional vertical clutch column-wheel controlled flyback movement.
