To celebrate the brand’s 150th Anniversary, Chopard has recently released the L.U.C Tourbillon Esprit de Fleurier limited edition, a gorgeous timepiece based on the highly-sophisticated L.U.C. Tourbillon Tech Steel Wings model that was unveiled two years ago. Limited to just 15 pieces worldwide, the new Chopard watch is sure to win the hearts of most enthusiastic watch lovers.

The new watch is not only a tribute to Louis-Ulysse Chopard, the founder of the watchmaking company, but also a great interpretation of the beautiful art of Fleurisanne engraving. The latter’s charm can be admired through the open-worked dial and the sapphire crystal case-back. It is simply a spectacular tapestry of fine hand-engraving.

Available with a 40.5mm case in white gold, the Chopard L.U.C Tourbillon Esprit Watch de Fleurier shows off a marvellous dial in satin-brushed 18K gold. It reveals a eye-holding combination of precious materials and finishes. The upper part of the dial presents the enchanted image created by Fleurisanne engraving. The lower part of the dial features a one-minute tourbillon at 6 o’clock, along with a seconds counter. The sophisticated display is complemented by Roman numerals, hour markers and elegant blued steel hands.

The precision is guaranteed by a C.O.S.C. chronometer certified L.U.C. 4TT3NGM Calibre. This mechanism is equipped with the Variner (Variable Inertia) free-sprung balance with variable inertia weights – the kind of technology, which is usually employed in very sophisticated watches and so far mastered only by a handful of true manufactures, like Rolex and Patek Philippe. As seen on the photos, bridges of the movement are made of solid 18-carat gold, are engraved in the traditional Fleurier style, and can be visible both through a sapphire-covered transparent case back and through a partly skeletonized dial. The movement also provides a remarkable 8-day power reserve presented by an indicator at 2 o’clock.

The final touch is made by a hand-stitched black alligator leather strap. The water-resistance for this watch is down to 30 meters.
