Emporio Armani is a division of the Giorgio Armani Company. Giorgio Armani was born in the town of Picenza in Northern Italy. He grew up with hopes of becoming a doctor. After two years of medical school, he realized he couldn't bear the sight of blood and thankfully his ambition turned toward a career in design. He began as a buyer for Milans largest department boutique, La Rinascente, and then spent six years working as an assistant designer for Cerruti. After working as a freelance designer for a short time, he began designing under his own name in 1974. The Emporio Armani Collection are products of quality and beautiful materials combined with a satisfying degree of innovation and references to different cultures which creates exciting urban fashion with an edge. All Emporio Armani Collection designs originate from Italy from Armanis offices with Mr. Armani directly involved with the design and approval of new collections.

Based on the limited edition commemorative Meccanico watch launched last year to celebrate the 10th anniversary of Emporio Armani watches, this new model has now been introduced in a stainless steel version with a black calf-leather strap embossed to resemble crocodile skin. The black dial has a special feature referred to as open heart which reveals the mechanical functioning of the watch movement, making the inner workings of the watch visible to the wearer. This model is also available with an amber coloured dial crystal and brown calf-leather strap embossed to resemble crocodile skin (model AR4223).

Inspired by traditional regulator-style timepieces but designed for forward-thinkers, the engine-turned dial of the blu Terzett is manufactured on four separate levels. The hour rim is suspended in the middle between the two circles of the minute dial and supports the upper section of the minutes dial. The mirror-polished indexes are positioned at 5-minute increments.

The superior and partially open-worked rhodium-plated minute rim features a mat finish. It dominates the structured surface of the main dial as well as the lower hour rim that sits in between. At the extremities the upper minute rim is cleverly finished in the shape of the indexes at 3 and 9 oclock. A clever feat as it is all in the same piece!

Forming a harmonious balance with the other displays of this multi-levelled dial, the date display is positioned at 6 oclock. Mirror-polished blued or gold-plated hands add the final zest of contemporary appeal.

With blu Terzett, the Bernhard Lederer Universe once again confirms its quest for innovation and its ability to make use of the past to create new traditions for the future.
