Instructions to Replace A Battery on a Seiko Replica Watch

Remove the watch from your wrist. Place the small cloth on a table or flat surface.

Place the watch face down on top of the cloth.

Inspect the back of the watch. Some Seiko backs are held on with small screws. If these screws are present, remove them with the jeweler's screwdriver.

Look for a small indent or notch around the edge of the back cover. This indent or notch will be about a millimeter or two from the actual edge of the watch frame.

Carefully insert the tip of the screwdriver into the notch and work the tip just slightly under the back cover. Lift up gently to loosen the cover, then lift it off the watch to expose the battery and internal components.

Insert the tip of the screwdriver carefully under the battery and lift the battery out of the watch. Do not push on the screwdriver or slide the tip around as this can damage the internal parts of the watch. Some Seiko watches have two batteries. If the battery has a small metal prong over it, gently lift the prong up slightly and slide the battery out. Do not bend the prong sharply because this could cause it to snap.

Note which side of the battery was face up in the watch. Usually the side with text on it is the face-up side. Inspect the text for the battery model number. Write down this number or take the entire battery with you when purchasing a new battery.

Select a replacement battery with the same model number. Watch batteries are sold online, at electronics stores, jewelers, drugstores and department stores.

Remove the new battery from its packaging and place it into the watch battery compartment, ensuring the battery faces the same direction as the old battery. Gently push down on the battery to ensure it is in place.

Line up the back cover with the back opening on the watch. Press down gently until the cover snaps into place. Replace the back screws if applicable.

Reprogram the watch time and settings using the side buttons or knob. Controls vary by model.
