Rolex is one of the best known and most respected watch brands in the world, and the Rolex Datejust is one of the best-selling models Rolex produces. The Datejust is known as the first automatic watch with a date function, and was first produced in 1945. Changing the bezel on a Datejust requires tools and careful instruction.

Things You'll Need:

Soft cloth

Pocket knife

Replacement bezel

Masking tape

Instructions

Rest your watch faceup on a soft cloth, to help prevent scratching.

Place strips of masking tape around the watch bezel to help protect the watch case. Slide the edge of one of the strips underneath the bezel.

Slide the edge of the pocket knife blade under the bezel where it is taped. Lever the knife slowly downwards until the bezel pops away from the watch.

Remove the bezel upwards and away from the face of the watch, being careful not to scratch the watch face.

Place the new bezel directly above the watch face in the mirror to the original bezel position. Press down on both sides of the bezel equally, until the bezel clicks back into place. After checking that the bezel is properly in place, the watch is ready to be worn again.

Always be careful when using metal tools on a watch, as they can easily scratch the face and body of the watch.
