You know there are too many modificated Rolex models by those professional watch lovers. New watch from the world’s most prestigious watch manufacture is really big news at Basel. With the new Rolex Submariner watches that impress most people at the great event, Rolex has also made some pleasant updaties for its popular Explorer collection.

This classic model now comes in a larger case, measuring 39mm in diameter and crafted in a better steel material. The new material is called “grade 904L steel”, which boasts high chemical and corrosion resistance. On the slightly updated dial we can find newer hour markers and larger hands, both with better finish. Shielded by a sapphire crystal, the case is water resistant to 100 meters.

Beating inside the watch is a rock-solid Rolex calibre 3132, completely developed in-house and bearing COSO Chronometer certification. In fact, this new watch has many things in common with the Submariner model, depite of the thinner case, a polished bezel and a totally different style dial. The new Rolex Explorer is completed with a stainless steel bracelet similar to the Submariner in design. However, the latter has an additional glide-lock clasp.

All in all, the new Explorer is a simple, and less expensive Rolex that achieves a fantastic fit on many gentlemen’s wrists. As the Rolex Explorer watch has not been updated for a very long time, the new model in 2010 is sure to delight its honest fans.
